Character Growth

For the last little while I have been working on the script writing for the short film. I have found the process reasonably alright but I am struggling in the aspect of the different types of shots to use at the different aspects of the script. I have realised how inexperienced I am in this field in that way so I reached out to our school computing teacher as we heard that his brother was involved in the film industry. We had a great conversation with him about what we are creating and the help we would need that we can see. Once we have both finished our scripts and storyboards we are to have another meeting with him to discuss the assistance we will need.

The script is growing in terms of the characters, their lines and the storyline. I have realised there isn't much talking as such to show the relationships between the characters that I may work on later on in the process or may leave at this point. I am more and more falling in love with all of the characters and the story they are involved in and can't wait until I see them come to life.

Also I handed out the forms for the leads to sign so they can be involved in the film. However I also realised they were all minors so I had to get them to take it home for their parents to sign also. I handed out more of the forms to my Year 12 Drama class to be extras within the film which will be great!

I am now aiming to have the script completed, minus ALL of the shots I am going to use, and hopefully will have started the storyboarding of my film by the end of these holidays. I am also planning on arranging a meeting during the first week of term for the leads to get together and we can organise times for them to learn their lines, develop the characters, develop the relationships and get close to each other before week 4 where we will hopefully start the filming process, yay!!

Overall I am excited and pushing myself to get the pre-production process completed so that I can see my story slowly come to life.
